Russell Southwood is the Chief Executive, Balancing Act, a consultancy and online publishing company specialising in telecoms, Internet and broadcasting in Africa.

His consultancy work has included: an assessment of two different sectors in the TV market in Africa; an assessment of the transition to digital broadcasting in over 20 African countries; two separate feasibility studies, one for an African Learning Channel and the other for an African News Channel; review of the international news coverage and its distribution in Africa for a European public broadcaster; and a briefing paper for fesmedia focused on the issue of the media deficit experienced by Africans, largely in rural areas. He also runs a fortnightly e-letter called Digital Content Africa which focuses on TV, film, music, media and digital advertising. He is currently working on a report looking at Africa’s Digital Landscape.

  • She founder of her own production company, Pegg Entertainment, which is based in Nairobi, Kenya with Investors from the U.S & Africa &has created content that has been acquired by international brands such as Emirates, South African Airlines, Gathr (American Theatre Box Office), & AFS (Canada). The company has also generated work for reputable organizations such as the Global Peace Foundation (A branch of the Peace Corps,) Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology-Tanzania. (Supported by Bill & Melinda Gates) & Alpha Film Series Global Christian Outreach campaign & recently the African Development Bank & Public Service Announcement for Kenya with Graca Machel.
